Tsukuyomi's one of the strongest Genjutsu to exist in the world of Naruto. For scale, we'll compare it to Jutsu that's stronger, or weaker than it is.
Tsukuyomi is one of the strongest Genjutsu to exist in the world of Naruto. One of the signature techniques of Itachi Uchiha, it allows him to cast a powerful illusion on others and trap them in a world where he controls everything.
According to Itachi, he has absolute control over the space and time of the Tsukuyomi world, meaning just a second in this Genjutsu could feel like an eternity for the victim. It goes without saying that Tsukuyomi is one of the strongest Jutsu in the series, however, there are quite a few out there that are even more powerful. Here are 5 Jutsu stronger than Tsukuyomi and 5 that are weaker.
10. Stronger: Genjutsu: Rinnegan
One of the Jutsu of Sasuke Uchiha, Genjutsu: Rinnegan is an illusionary technique powered by the Six Paths. It was first used on Sakura Haruno to render her unconscious and keep her from interfering with Naruto and Sasuke's fight.
Later, Sasuke Uchiha used this Genjutsu on all 9 Tailed Beasts at once and managed to capture them within an instant. Genjutsu: Rinnegan appears to quite stronger than the Tsukuyomi.
9. Weaker: Genjutsu: Sharingan
As the name suggests, Genjutsu: Sharingan is an illusionary technique that is cast with the Sharingan. It is the most basic Uchiha Genjutsu and almost everyone with a Sharingan can use it.
Interestingly, this Genjutsu, when cast by a stronger user is much more lethal. However, even the strongest user of this technique can't match Itachi Uchiha's Tsukuyomi.
8. Stronger: Kotoamatsukami
Kotoamatsukami is a powerful Mangekyo Sharingan Genjutsu and the ability of Shisui Uchiha. According to Itachi himself, this technique is known to be Genjutsu of the highest order.
Kotoamatsukami is quite powerful and it allows the user to control other people without them even realizing. A power as dangerous as that is certainly above Itachi's Mangekyo Sharingan Genjutsu, Tsukuyomi.
7. Weaker: Toad Confrontation Chant
The strongest Genjutsu in the arsenal of Fukasaku and Shima, Toad Confrontation Chant is an illusion that is cast via sound waves.
Jiraiya used this technique in his fight against the Six Paths of Pain and although he managed to take down one of the bodies with this power, he ultimately failed to defeat them. Without a doubt, this Jutsu is significantly weaker than Tsukuyomi.
6. Stronger: Infinite Tsukuyomi
Infinite Tsukuyomi is the strongest Genjutsu in the world of Naruto, cast only by the users of the Rinne-Sharingan. It was used first by Kaguya Otsutsuki and Madara Uchiha after her.
This Jutsu allows the user to reflect their eye off the moon and cast a Genjutsu on the entire populace, trapping them in a world of illusion forever. Only someone with a Rinnegan can escape its effects.
5. Weaker: Bringer Of Darkness
A Genjutsu of the First Hokage of Konohagakure, Bringer of Darkness made its debut during the Konoha Crush arc of Naruto. It was used by Hashirama Senju against Hiruzen Sarutobi.
As the name suggests, Bringer of Darkness traps the target in eternal Darkness where they are able to see nothing. Although powerful, it was only able to incapacitate the Third Hokage for a while and he broke free by using his other senses to the fullest.
4. Stronger: Expansive Truth-Seeking Ball
Expansive Truth-Seeking Ball is a Jutsu of Kaguya Otsutsuki, known to be the strongest character in all of Naruto. This Jutsu is easily her strongest and to perform it, Kaguya utilizes a vast amount of chakra to produce a massive Truth-Seeking Ball that keeps on expanding forever.
According to Zetsu, it was powerful enough to wipe out an entire space-time, which just goes to show how dangerous this Jutsu really was.
3. Weaker: Chidori
Chidori is an A-rank Jutsu that was developed by none other than Kakashi Hatake. It was later taught to Sasuke Uchiha, who became an extensive user of this technique.
Chidori is a thrust-based technique where the user concentrates lightning style chakra on their palm, increasing their power to tear through objects. Strong as it is, the Tsukuyomi is much more powerful, as demonstrated by Itachi when the two clashed.
2. Stronger: Six Paths Chibaku Tensei
Six Paths: Chibaku Tensei is known to be the strongest Sealing Jutsu in the entire Naruto series. It has only been used twice in battle, both times against Kaguya Otsutsuki.
This Jutsu requires two people to perform and once successfully cast, the target becomes the center of a massive Chibaku Tensei. Naruto Uzumaki used it alongside Sasuke Uchiha, while Hagoromo Otsutsuki used it with Hamura Otsutsuki.
1. Weaker: Fireball Jutsu
The Fireball Jutsu is the primary technique that every Uchiha should be able to perform by the time they become proper shinobi. This Jutsu is quite powerful and it sees the user spew a giant ball of fire.
The strength of the Jutsu depends on how powerful the user is. In fact, a user of this technique can even counter Water Release techniques, provided their skill is on a much higher level. Regardless, it isn't comparable to the Tsukuyomi in terms of power.
